Intern Counsellor

Leslie Ann Watt B.A., M.P.A., M.A.C.P. (in progress)

Leslie Ann cares deeply about people. She will work closely with you to help you understand the circumstances that led you to counselling. Therapy with Leslie Ann will feel like a conversation where you will be heard, understood and accepted without bias or judgement. Sessions are goal-oriented, but Leslie Ann will help you explore your deeper self. She will guide you to a better awareness of yourself, your strengths, beliefs, and desires to help you define what you need to strengthen your wellbeing and, ultimately, to thrive.

Originally from Vancouver Island, Leslie Ann learned to relate to people from different countries, cultures and socio-economic background from living in Europe, Africa and Asia for over a decade in her youth and in different places in Canada in adulthood. Leslie Ann transitioned from a 20-year career as a public servant to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a counsellor. She has been a volunteer counsellor with Cowichan Family Life Association and Ladysmith Resource Centre Association. She also facilitates life skills and employment workshops for youth in the Cowichan Valley.  Leslie Ann holds a Bachelor ‘s degree from UVic and a Master’s degree from Carleton University, and is completing a practicum in the final year of her Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
